Back again already

So decided I needed a second post today, my husband needs to have his gall bladder removed and this is being done next week, he has been told after the op he needs to watch his fat intake so we will be attempting to reduce the fat in our diet, as you can see in the photo in my first post we could both do with losing a few pounds(quite a few in my case) so tonight we had a trial of a lower fat dinner, salmon with lemon and herbs, new potatoes and green beans, it was delicious, I may struggle trying to adapt some of our favorite curries and risotto, I can see plenty research being done this week for ideas as neither of use are overfond of normal diet type food.

I do like to cook from scratch so diet sauces are not ideal but may need to be used to allow us some of our favorite curries. We are lucky that we both love vegetables so they will be the main part of our diet in the months to come.

This week we will be having a few treats while fat in the Husbands diet is not as much of an issue, next week however things must change this will be the first year that I may need to do research before cooking Christmas dinner but things must change.

We are planning a family trip to Orlando in about 18 months, after this years trip I decided before the next time I really need to loose weight, plane seats are not designed for ladies with a a more than ample backside, especially in economy and although we would love to upgrade the flights I do not think the budget will stretch that far as there are six of us going.

So when I started this blog I had in mind this would be somewhere to talk to myself about crafting and put a few pictures of my craft projects and now I think it will be a general rambling place, a am a bit of a chatterbox in real life so I don't suppose a blog will be any different, the subjects I discuss will be very random and change from one to the next with no notice but that is why the blog is my random ramblings, I am a very random person and so why would a blog written by me be any different.

On that note I will go for today, back to work tomorrow at 7am so an early night required for me.

Bye  x

Start at the very begining

So thought I would start a blog, sort of a diary, some where to spout my random ramblings.
I better introduce myself just  in case anyone ever finds this blog and decides to read it.I am a just turned fifty Mum of two grown up children, mother in law and Granny. Married to my soul mate we've been together 31 years and married for almost 30.

I work full time I recently changed jobs, I was a civil servant but the stress and targets that were involved in the job I was doing was affecting my health so time for a change. I was lucky enough to get a new job with a lot less stress and not the same kind of pressure and targets. I enjoy my new job and its a pleasure not dreading work everyday.

I am a homebird, not really one for nights out, I love to spend time with my family, this is not always as easy as it used to be as the new job involves shifts and the other family members work shifts too. I love to craft, and I enjoy lots of different crafts, card making, scrapbooking, I knit and enjoy the odd bit of cross stitch although not very often now as paper crafting is my 1st crafting love.  I love to cook but don't get much time for it these days.

I have an almost 3 year old Granddaughter and she is amazing, such a special little lady.

Boring stuff over, the random stuff begins, I have suddenly realised that although I have made some Christmas cards I have nowhere near enough, I am busy making our special little lady's birthday party invitations just now so I will need to get them sorted pronto.

I needed to go to the craft shop today and I seen so many things I needed, I was good and only bought the things I needed and one magasine which I just could not resist. I am trying to use some of my craft stash mountain so I am only buying essentials just now, I have asked Santa for craft shop vouchers so that should allow me a little bit of extravagance after Christmas.

I think I have rambled on enough for a first post so I am going to go, my family duties call, I have to take my daughter-in-law to the vet as her labrador is trying to take out her stitches from a recent op.

Bye for now
